Porcelanosa aimed to renovate and emphasise the value of one of its most significant showcases and points of sale in Portugal.
To achieve this, our project searched for the highest possible product visibility level, lowering the height of the building to get closer to the level of the nearby roadway.
The showroom is open to the outside on two sides with a glazed surface over 500 square metres long and 6 metres in height. This way, the idea was to extend the product beyond the limits of the showroom, totally involving the customer before they even enter the interior.
The building will have new offices located at the back of the showroom. Distributed on two floors, the building seeks to achieve the highest level of functionality and comfort in all workspaces.
The skin of the building was treated as a smooth white surface using Krion tiles. Like a canvas, it was given lines of light and shade that lend dynamics to the building and break the orthogonality of the heavy prismatic volume. At night, these lines come alive and some of them are illuminated to highlight the presence of the building within the cityscape.
