“So, what was decisive here was the presence of the sea, that shining object of desire on which all eyes are lain, and of course, the orientation.”

This house is located on a hillside plot with quite a steep slope, facing east, with magnificent views over the sea and the surrounding mountain landscape. The insertion of the house into the terrain was approached from a cross-section analysis, with various levels being necessary for intended uses, and for connection to the rest of the house, not to mention its connections to nearby and distant surroundings.

Access to the house was arranged transversely to the plot to form a kind of regular white prism, closed-off on one side and open towards the sea on the other, like a huge glass and wood frame. Room layouts, wet area locations and internal transit areas all offer the best orientation and views. The main body of the house, on which the others overlap, is arranged longitudinally to the plot, incorporating the entire daytime living area. This arrangement allowed us to keep the covered outdoor space free, extending from the pool terrace to form a large outdoor activities platform.
