“The definite look of the ensemble is unitary and rotund, being fragmented into three bodies to suitably integrate the volumetrics into the skirt of the mountain.”
Urbanización Torre Bellver, Oropesa del Mar. Castellón
Premio Arquitectura Instituto Valencia de la Edificación IV 2006
This project was undertaken in collaboration with our partners Carlos Guillamón and Alejandro Rubert. It is for a small residential complex with eight homes located in the Torre Bellver urbanisation on the Oropesa coast.
With its steep slope and magnificent views over the Bay of Benicàssim, this plot is terraced onto four levels:
An upper level for the parking area and access to the building and to the first two homes.
An intermediate level with three homes connected by a corridor that “sews” the three volumes of this complex together.
A lower level where the other three houses are located, combining simplex and duplex types for a broader choice of dwellings.
The base level below, on the lower part of the plot, containing communal garden terraces, the swimming pool and the solarium annex.
The materials allotted for the project were white facing brick and stone walls, with ceramics and natural wood being the main features of indoor decoration.
