Gestinota de Castellón S.L.
This was an extremely complex intervention in an old cinema for conversion into an office building for the public notary offices A, F & S. The existing building, sitting on a plot in the historic centre of the city, had a shared dividing wall on three of its sides, with the fourth side façade facing a narrow pedestrian street.
The project was formalised for the execution of a five-floor building fitting into the pre-existing envelope. It had a clear organisational scheme arranged around a large interior courtyard that interconnects the various levels and allows natural light to reach all rooms inside. The patio provided a solution to the problem of the limited perimeter in direct contact with the exterior, so all offices were organised around it, as were transit ways on each floor and vertical connections for the whole building, with two panoramic lifts placed inside.
Each floor presents great clarity in programming uses for each notary, with secretarial offices, signing rooms, as well as transit areas and waiting areas. The ground floor was also given communal areas for reception/access and a conference room.
The interior design incorporates contemporary furniture and lighting, as well as an interesting collection of old typewriters and part of the important graphic works collection of the notary Joaquín Serrano.
